That way of getting worms is totally good. But you have to have enough water to saturate the ground and go deeper. Large worms can be down as deep as 6 feet or more. Dish soap works too but either way the worms must be rinsed off as you showed. NOT SO FUN FACT: Walnut husks kill horses if they eat them.

Billy, I bought a set of the TINIEST micro screwdrivers you ever saw from the local chinese shop. They cost next to nothing and I sharpened the blades with sandpaper. I think the smallest is about 1mm. You cut into the wood sort of sideways. Goes in like butter. I made my first spoon a few weeks back and I want to kolrose it but like you say you can't screw up so I want to practice a bit.

No offence....but this isn't going to work. You're attempting to remove the mucilage from the oil not the fats, which are the fragments of seed that will decompose as air enters the oil. This will turn the oil dark brown...permanently , which is not the same as the yellowing in linseed oil that can be bleached by leaving in the sun. When you mix water with oil you get a colloid which is a temporary emulsion...like a vinegraitte..which will seprate when not used. Mixing water with oil simply puts more moisture into the oil which will do nothing to make it dry faster. The supposed gunk or "break" in between the oil and the water is just the colloid of the two which would appear when simply carefully pouring the oil into the water. The pressure of the two liquids against each other will create a thin colloid layer. This is not mucilage. The way painters of the past refined linseed oil ...and it was crucial for them because unrefined oil would make the paintings irreversibly damaged by going dark brown. They used alcohol as the basis of their process because they knew it worked. Once refined it can be left in the hot sun for at least a week to polymerise it...which would make it harder to work with as it becomes more viscous, but faster drying.

If you follow that river trail down stream (or come in through Station Camp, there is an old cabin there, i was camped in the cabin I suddenly woke up to the "amplified"sound of a loud dragging coming across the porch!! It was one of my 1st times ever solo camping and I was Terrified!!! After a while, I had enough, it was Fight or Flight, so I went outside and shined my headlamp all around the porch, then i spotted it..........a mouse was rolling walnuts down the line between the deck boards, 🤣😂😅

The "duct tape" of my past. It was used for everything, from hose clamps to antennas. Ubiquitous as it was, it's been impossible to find for several decades. For heavy duty uses, we'd use coat hanger wire, which is also impossible to find, anymore.

Apache method that we only used in emergencies years back and is illegal in 50 states is fishing with mullein seed. You ground up the seeds off two large dead stalks into powder. You throw it in the water where you see fish, and it stuns them. They float to the top, and you grab them. You can use mullein leaves for toilet paper too, it's soft like velvet. If you have asthma, bronchitis, you can make tea out of the leaves or smoke it, and it helps. Just dont use the leaves you used to wipe your butt.
